This song is essentially a 12-bar blues in the key of G, and it uses just three chords: G, C, and D. This is what we call the I, IV, and V in the key of G.

The Last Waltz was a performance by the Canadian-American rock group The Band. It was held on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1976, at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco.
This concert was promoted as The Band's "farewell concert appearance", and featured some incredible special guests like: Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Paul Butterfield, Bobby Charles, Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell, Ringo Starr, Muddy Waters, Ronnie Wood, and Neil Young.
